Nebraska is looking ahead to future planning as early as possible, including providing opportunities like the Making it My Choice! Course in 7th and 8th grade. Why This Matters in Nebraska

The state commissioned its own research on this gap. A recent WestEd landscape analysis, done in partnership with the Nebraska Department of Education, identified real strengths, barriers, and opportunities in middle school CTE, and offered eight actionable recommendations.
A discovery problem, not an opportunity problem. Nebraska’s career clusters, standards, and model already exist. The gap is making sure every student gets access to that career development as early as possible.
